The Hunger Games Series - Again

We all have a few books and movies that we never mind watching over and over again. While I thought mine was Harry Potter, recently Hunger games joined that list too. I keep comparing the movies with the books but I have already watched the movies plenty of times, every time hoping the movies would have more of the books. But of course one can include so much in a 2 hour movie so I have to keep content with them.

I personally would have liked if the movies showed more of Peeta and his side. The books are narrated by Katniss so we only have her perspective but it is the same with the movies also. The first movie in the series gave the world Jennifer Lawrence and she had done full justice with her character. The movies are intense but during the third movie, it looses the speed and grip of the plot that the books have. It also does not include any of the brutal history of the districts and the amount of violence that they have to endure all of the time. The movies are in a way very much Katniss centred. It does not include the other districts or what they, and how they are kept separated strategically from one another.

But if I stop comparing them, the movie on it's own is a very good one. But I guess that happens with every movie or series adapted on books. It is almost the same like the twilight series. Where we can only reason with their actions from the book. Without the book in the back of my mind, most of the story makes no sense at all, or leaves the audience to wander on their own. But the movie is only 2 hours long and reading the book will take 3-4 days. So if I want to go through that series again, the movie (so well made) is my catch of the moment.
